Solar Thermal
Solar Thermal (hot water) systems convert heat from the sun's radiation to usable energy. Most hot water solar thermal systems use an antifreeze solution and transfer the heat through the use of a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may be used to supplement hot water radiators, domestic hot water systems, or pool systems among other uses. Implementing solar thermal energy in any application will reduce the demand on your existing boiler system, electric water heater, or gas water heater. Your certified solar thermal installer will be able to incorporate a thermal solar system into your existing system once a site assessment has been performed. Most solar thermal systems will qualify for grants and rebates through Focus on Energy and / or your local utility provider improving your return on investment (ROI).
